Biker thrown through window

A motorcyclist has died after being thrown through a shop window.

Andrew Nicholson, 28, lost control of his Suzuki 750 on a bend on the B1248 Scarborough Road, in Norton, North Yorkshire.

He suffered fatal injuries after being thrown through the window of a carpet shop.

Mr Nicholson, who lived in Scarborough Road, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at York District Hospital following the accident at 1645 BST on Saturday.

The road was closed for four hours as investigators examined the scene.

A police spokesman said a large number of witnesses had already come forward.
