More delays on West trains
Trains
The heatwave has delayed trains across the UK
Speed restrictions are continuing on First Great Western's West country weekend services.

The company has apologised to passengers for the continued delays, which have now lasted almost a week, due to high temperatures.

Speed restrictions on the line between South Wales and London, imposed by Network Rail, will add up to 25 minutes to journeys.

And a limit of 90mph is in force on a large part of First Great Western's West country area for safety reasons.

A spokesperson for the train operator said: "We are sorry that the heat has caused these problems but we hope our customers will appreciate that we support Network Rail in working to ensure complete safety on rail journeys.

"We are doing all we can to minimise the effects of these restriction and keeping our customers fully informed of changes in services and timings."
