Girl, 8, collides with police car
An eight year old girl collided with a police car on the M5 on Saturday.

The collision happened on the hard shoulder near junctions 19 and 20 after an accident with a horsebox had closed the motorway.

The child was taken to Bristol's Children Hospital with minor head injuries.

It is thought the girl ran across the carriageway and collided with a police range rover attending the incident in which a horsebox overturned.

The incident was one of several accidents which left roads in and around Bristol gridlocked for much of Saturday afternoon.

An accident on the A38, and the high volume of traffic heading to the International Balloon Fiesta, added to the number of vehicles on the M5 and the general traffic problems.
