Shopkeeper in hammer attack
A shopkeeper has been hit over the head with a hammer in a seemingly unprovoked incident in Gloucester.

The two-man attack happened in a store on Barton Street at 1420 BST on Wednesday.

The first man questioned the shop owner before a second man hit him on the left of his head with what is thought to have been a hammer.

Both offenders then ran out of the shop without taking any goods or cash and rode off on BMX bikes into Vauxhall Road.

They are described as black, aged around 20, about 6 ft tall with blue hooded tops.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
