A man has been charged with rape after the alleged abduction of a teenage girl.
Paul Jones, 20, from the Penhill area of Swindon, was arrested on Tuesday and charged on Wednesday with rape, abduction and two offences of indecent assault.
It is alleged that a 14-year-old girl, also from Swindon, was picked up by a man in the vicinity of New Road, Chisledon, on 20 September.
He then allegedly stopped at an unknown location, possibly Hungerford in Berkshire, where the victim was subjected to a serious sexual assault, say police.
The man was remanded in custody until 3 October when he appeared before Swindon magistrates on Thursday.
