Parking warning for City fans
City of Manchester Stadium
Parking zones will be clearly marked, say police
Police have warned fans attending Manchester City's first match at their new ground about parking arrangements in the surrounding area.

Residents and businesses near the Beswick ground are part of a parking scheme, meaning fans will have to park in designated zones.

The friendly match between City and Barcelona at the City of Manchester Stadium is due to kick off at 1500 BST on Sunday.

It is the club's first game at the former Commonwealth Games stadium since it left its Maine Road ground in the Moss Side area of the city.

All City season ticket holders have been sent details of where the scheme will be operating, including a map of the areas and a list of the streets involved.

Clearly marked

Parking attendants will be patrolling the area around the stadium ensuring the scheme is adhered to.

The parking zones will also be clearly marked on entry to the stadium, Greater Manchester Police said.

Enforcement of the parking scheme will be undertaken by Control Plus, which is run by Manchester City Council.

Police have said any appeals against parking tickets should be directed to Control Plus.
