Man charged with indecent assault

Police are still appealing for information

A man has been charged with the indecent assault of a nine-year-old girl as she hid in bushes while playing with friends in a park.

On Saturday, Anthony Stawiarski, 43, of Fulmer Road, Bedford, was charged with indecent assault and attempted abduction of the girl.

He is due to appear before Bedford Magistrates Court on Monday.

The incident is alleged to have happened at about 1600 BST on Friday when the girl was playing near the lake in Bedford Park in Bedford.
