Pakistani actress shot dead

The police in Pakistan say a film actress and several of her relatives and staff have been shot dead in the city of Lahore.

A senior police officer told the BBC that the actress, Nagina Khanum, and seven other people had been killed in her home in Allama Iqbal Town.

The police said they were also investigating a separate incident in Lahore, in which three people were killed when a police vehicle was attacked in the old part of the city.
