Armed robbery at takeaway

An armed man tried to rob a Chinese takeaway in Cinderford on Friday.

He walked into The Chinese House on the High street just before 2200 BST and produced a firearm, thought to be a pistol, say police.

After demanding money from a member of staff, who fled into the kitchen, he left empty-handed.

The man is described as white, in his early to mid 20s and with short, brown hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
