Girl, 5, killed in crash

A five-year-old girl has died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a crash in east Yorkshire.

Police say the girl was a passenger in a red Peugeot car which collided head-on with a silver Vauxhall Vectra.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at Hull Royal Infirmary following the accident on Friday evening.

The female driver of the Peugeot remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened on Hariff Lane, Burstwick, between Hedon and Hull, at 1745 BST.
