Jobs fears at printing firm
A printing company in Cumbria has said it may have to lay off almost all its staff.

Frank Peters employs 58 people at the Endmoor works, near Kendal.

The company laid off more than 20 of its workforce last year and have warned they may have to close down production completely.

Tim Collins, the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, said he was seeking urgent meetings with the firm and local authorities.

Work transfer

On Wednesday, directors said the firm - which prints high quality material for businesses - had failed to stem financial losses.

A four week consultation period will be held with staff.

Unless another solution is found, production work will be transferred to another plant at Dewsbury, with most of the 58 remaining staff made redundant.

The current workforce travels from a wide area to the plant.

The announcement has increased local concern that South Lakeland is losing highly-paid jobs.
