Dealer jailed for five years
A man caught in an Evesham car park with heroin and crack cocaine worth £1,000 has been jailed for five years.

Dean Smith, 23, was convicted by a jury in March of two counts of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

Smith, of Rynal Place, Evesham, had pleaded guilty to supplying heroin.

The 23-year-old was sentenced on Wednesday at Worcester Crown Court.

Smith had told police on his arrest in April 2002 that a friend who was trying to beat an addiction had given him the heroin and crack cocaine to throw away.

The 23-year-old said he had forgotten he had the drugs after being told his mother was seriously ill in hospital.

A police investigation found that Smith had made £5,000 from drug dealing.
