Nobody was hurt by the chip pan fire

A Guernsey family had a lucky escape after a chip pan fire nearly destroyed their kitchen.

Fire crews were called to Maurepas Road in St Peter Port after the alarm was raised on Friday afternoon.

The homeowners were alerted to the blaze while they were on the beach.

Damage was caused to the kitchen and nobody was hurt.
