Doctor denies forgery charges
Dr David Pugh
Hundreds of children attended Dr Pugh's private clinic
A doctor who offered single measles, mumps and rubella vaccines for babies instead of the combined MMR injection has appeared in court charged with forgery.

Dr David Pugh, 54, has been charged over claims surrounding the vaccinations and falsified medical documents.

Dr Pugh ran Lifeline Care Limited at Elstree Aeromedical Centre in Hertfordshire offering youngsters separate vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella.

Hundreds of children who attended the private clinic were treated with the single inoculations, which were offered as an alternative to the controversial three-in-one MMR injection.

Not working

The children were offered blood tests after concerns that the batches of vaccine were not working properly.

Dr Pugh, of Beechfield, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, also ran a clinic at Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

He pleaded not guilty to seven counts of forgery at a hearing at Central Herts Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He was bailed to reappear at St Albans Crown Court on 3 October.
