Facelift for former school site
The former site of a primary school that was partially demolished after an arson attack is to receive a £90,000 facelift.

The former site of the Middleport Primary School in Burslem is being cleaned up after funding was secured from the regional development agency.

Advantage West Midlands has offered £90,000 to landscape the site.

The school was closed last year as part of the reorganisation of primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent.

It was partially demolished after being attacked by arsonists last summer.

After months of campaigning by residents in Middleport, Dalehall and Longport the development agency came forward with the funding.

It will pay for new foundations and boundary walls on the site, and landscaping which will include new trees and footpaths.
