Man threatened with meat cleaver

A man has been threatened with a meat cleaver in a late night row in Weston-super-Mare.

The victim was walking along South Road in the seafront town at 0123 BST on Tuesday when a man on the opposite side of the road began verbally abusing him.

This man then crossed the road, putting his hand inside his jacket and pulling out a meat cleaver-style knife, which he used to threaten the victim.

Police investigating the incident are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

They say the man they want to question is white, in his 20s, about 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a dark jacket and a cap.
