Mountain body is missing doctor
Dr Timothy Derrick
Dr Derrick went missing in August
Human remains found on the Isle of Skye last weekend have been identified as a missing English backpacker.

Dr Timothy Derrick, 41, of Southwark Bridge Road, London, went missing in the Cuillins almost six weeks ago.

The alarm was raised when Dr Derrick failed to check out of a bunkhouse in Sligachan on 14 August.

His remains were found by teams searching for a missing climber near Sgur a' Mhadaidh last week.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said that his family had been informed.

John and Jean Derrick, from Cheddar in Somerset, had already said that they expected police to find their son's body.

Officers believe he may have gone missing after going for a swim.
