Police are still questioning a suspect after a man was killed in his home in what police are describing as a "frenzied" knife attack.
The 27-year-old victim was discovered with serious injuries in a flat in Wellington Road, Bilston, Wolverhampton, at about 0330 BST on Friday.
He was taken to New Cross Hospital with multiple stab wounds, but died soon after.
West Midlands Police had earlier warned the public not to approach Jerry Williams, 45, from Quinton, Birmingham, who was arrested in Walsall on Friday afternoon.
Mr Williams was previously known as Eugene Saunders.
Crossbow bolt
A post mortem examination revealed that the victim, whose name has not yet been released by the police, had been stabbed 17 times.
Neighbour Lawrence Francis said: "One of the girls said 'get an ambulance'.
"I went into the flat. There was a guy on the bed and a lot of blood.
"He was cut up pretty badly and in a lot of distress."
Officers recovered clothing and a crossbow bolt near the premises in Bilston and the items have been sent for forensic examination.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
