Aurigny announces new routes

The new routes are to Stansted and Bournemouth
Travellers in Jersey will soon have more links to the UK.

From next month the Guernsey States-owned company Aurigny is to open routes from the island to Stansted and Bournemouth.

The news follows concern over the possible introduction of a so-called open skies policy for Jersey, which would mean any airline could operate to the island without a licence.

Aurigny managing director Malcolm Hart warned if the policy is adopted it could lead to companies cutting winter services. Stansted daily

But he has now announced new flights to Stansted and Bournemouth which will begin to operate this winter.

There will be four flights a week to Bournemouth from September.

The daily Stansted flights begin at the end of October.
