Man charged with child kidnap

A man has appeared in court charged with abducting and indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl he allegedly met through a telephone chat line.

Peter Dyson, 53, of Leigh Common, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, was arrested in Gloucestershire on Tuesday night.

He was charged with child abduction, indecent assault and gross indecency.

Dennis Scully, prosecuting, told Cheltenham magistrates the pair had established contact via a telephone chat line advertised in a teenage magazine.

Mr Dyson was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 14 August.
