Nurses' attacker sent to secure unit
Northen General Hospital
Yousaf was being treated at the Northern General Hospital
A man who attacked five nurses at a Sheffield hospital has been sent to a secure unit for treatment under the Mental Health Act.

Zaheer Yousaf, 21, pleaded guilty to four counts of grievous bodily harm and one of actual bodily harm.

He was being treated at the Northern General Hospital and had been on the ward for more than a day when the incident happened.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that one of the victims has not yet returned to work following the incident on 30 January.

Other nurses received bruises and cuts after they were punched and kicked.

The judge described the attacks as "savage" but said Yousaf had been suffering from a mental illness at the time.
