Restoration
Griff Rhys Jones live on Breakfast
Britain's impressive historic buildings are a huge draw for tourists from around the world. But each day one of these buildings is destroyed or lost forever.

Starting tonight a new series called 'Restoration' will give viewers a chance to save one for posterity, by voting on a special phone line.

The man leading the quest for 'Restoration' is funny man Griff Rhys Jones.

He joined us live on Breakfast this morning, to explain the idea behind the interactive TV series.

How will the buildings be restored?

The winning building will be restored from funds raised through The Restoration Fund, a BBC appeal which will be registered as a charity. This will collect money through donations, funds from telephone voting, sponsorship and heritage grants

How to vote Viewers can vote during transmission by calling 0901 077 77 77. A minimum of 17.9p from every phone vote (calls charged at 30p) will go towards the restoration.

  • Restoration begins tonight at 9pm on BBC Two.
