Police hope the blurred image will jog people's memories
A CCTV image has been issued of a man who may have sexually assaulted a woman in Norwich 10 days ago.

The 23-year-old victim was attacked in a secluded courtyard near to the Wig and Pen public house on St Martins at Palace Plain.

Detectives investigating the assault, which happened at about at about 0300 BST on Saturday 13 September, have been studying CCTV images from in and around the city.

They have released an image of a man walking along the pavement on Queens Road towards the junction with St Stephens Road at 0426 BST.

'Terrible and traumatic'

Police spokeswoman Nina Goad said: "The image is unclear but we are hoping it may jog somebody's memory who was in the area at the time and recalls seeing a man walking on the pavement wearing a dark shirt and lighter coloured trousers.

"This was a terrible and traumatic experience for the victim to have to endure.

"It is extremely important that anyone with information contacts the police or Crimestoppers."

The man in the image is described as about 5 ft 8 ins tall and of medium build.

He has short dark hair and was wearing a dark casual shirt with short sleeves or the sleeves rolled up. His trousers were lighter.

Officers would also like to speak to any guesthouse or hotel owners in the area who may have had someone matching the man's description staying with them recently.
