Coastguards search for missing woman

The Skegness inshore lifeboat and an RAF Sea King helicopter have joined police and coastguards in the search for a Lincolnshire woman who has been missing for two days.

Ann Simpson, 60, who is suffering from depression, was last seen at her home in Roman Bank at Chapel St Leonards on Sunday.

Officers say they are concerned for her safety and are asking anyone who may have seen her to contact them.


Service remembers gunners

The Boston Gunners have been remembered at a special service in the town.

More than a thousand members of the armed services from across the world came to the town, 60 years ago to be involved in Operation Market Garden.

The largest military operation of its kind involved 10,000 men who worked to secure bridges across rivers in Holland so the Allied army could advance into the lowlands of Germany.

The service was held at the Boston Stump on Sunday.


Woman arrested after fire

A 28-year-old woman has been arrested after a fire at a house in Lincoln.

The woman is alleged to have caused criminal damage.

She also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lincoln County Hospital on Thursday night.

The fire, on Charlesworth Street in the city, is being investigated.


Fundraiser gets a lucky break

A charity fundraising attempt which nearly hit disaster in Lincolnshire has had a lucky break.

Firefighter Karl Reynolds from the West Midlands was attempting to ride the length of the A1 on horseback while wearing a full suit of armour when his horse went lame as he approached Lincolnshire.

Fellow firefighters put out an appeal for a replacement and stables near Peterborough have lent him a horse for the rest of the journey.

He is raising money for a young girl with a terminal illness.
