Man arrested on abduction charge

A man has been arrested and charged with three offences relating to a girl under the age of 16.

The 53-year-old, from Welwyn City, was arrested on Wednesday just before midnight in Nether Westcote in the Cotswolds.

He was taken to Stroud police station, and questioned.

On Thursday, he was charged in connection with child abduction, indecent assault and gross indecency.

He is due before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
