Decision due over caravans
Caravan
The trial scheme has already been extended until the autumn
A decision on whether to let holidaymakers in caravans visit Jersey for another season could be made on Thursday.

A trial scheme has already been extended until the autumn and could run again next summer if the authorities agree.

This season visiting caravans have been allowed in Jersey for the first time in decades.

Permits were issued to people who made a booking at one of the three campsites.

Great response

They are not permitted to stay for more than a month and can only be driven between the campsite and the harbour.

But the managers of the sites say there has been a great response from campers who would not otherwise have visited Jersey.

Jersey Tourism has asked Planning to support the system again next year.
