A 37-year-old man charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found near a hotel in West Sussex has appeared in court.
Lee Charles Portwine, of Pound Hill Parade in Crawley, is accused of killing Una Whitney who lived at the same address.
The 38-year-old's body was found on 27 July in woods in Copthorne, just outside Crawley, near the Gatwick Worth Hotel.
Mr Portwine appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday morning.
He did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his name during the brief preliminary hearing before Judge Richard Brown.
He was remanded in custody to await a plea and directions hearing scheduled for 10 October.
