Police believe a man who was stabbed to death in a Manchester street had been involved in an altercation minutes before.
Officers were called to Highgate Crescent in Gorton, at about 1945 BST on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old man was collapsed in the street and had suffered several knife wounds. He died later in Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Police later arrested a 39-year-old man in Bury, in the early hours of Thursday, on suspicion of murder.
Car followed
A post-mortem examination of the victim's body revealed he died from stab wounds to the chest.
Greater Manchester Police is appealing for witnesses who saw a white Vauxhall car, which is believed to have left the area shortly after the attack.
A witness to the stabbing followed the car towards the motorway along Hyde Road before losing sight of it. The car was later recovered in Bury.
Witnesses to the incident should contact Longsight CID or ring Crimestoppers.
