Opposition parties in India are demanding a debate in parliament over alleged irregularities in arms purchases made during the Kargil conflict with Pakistan in 1999.
They want a discussion on the refusal by a parliamentary committee to continue an investigation into the issue.
A spokesman for the Congress party, Jaipal Reddy, told the BBC that it would raise the issue in parliament later on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament refused to continue the investigation, saying it was not getting cooperation from the Indian Defence Ministry.
