Jobs to go at Coventry firm
More than 100 jobs are to go at a manufacturing firm in Coventry.

Bosses at Viasystems told 120 staff on Wednesday they were to lose their jobs.

The electronics manufacturing plant, in Uxbridge Avenue, is to close in October.

The American owners have issued a statement in which they blame the closure of its only UK factory on declining profitability because of lower market demand for their products.

In a statement it also cites increased competition from Eastern Europe and the Far East.

Union leaders have been meeting with the workforce to discuss the announcement.
