Body found at foot of cliffs
A man's body has been recovered from the foot of cliffs in Cornwall.

The body was found at the bottom of 80-foot cliffs at Stepper Point, near Padstow, and was recovered by a coastguard boat.

It has been taken to the mortuary at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske.

Officers have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Difficult recovery

They say the body may have been in the water for some time.

Sergeant Alan Mobbs said the recovery of the body was not straightforward.

"It was very difficult and we had to rely heavily on the expertise of the coastguard.

"They had to use a small craft to reach the bottom of the cliffs.

"A post-mortem examination will now be carried out on the body."
