Man charged with indecent assault

A 53-year-old man facing charges of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl has appeared in court in Gloucestershire.

The offence was alleged to have taken place in August after the pair arranged to meet through an internet chat room.

Stroud Magistrates were told Peter Dyson, of Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, met the girl before taking her to a lay-by where the alleged assault took place.

The girl cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mr Dyson, who appeared via a video link, spoke only to confirm his name and address and say that he understood the charges.

He was remanded to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 14 October.
