Terror conviction
The man said to be the leader of the Real IRA, Michael McKevitt, has become the first person in the Irish Republic to be convicted of directing terrorism.

The Real IRA was responsible for the worst single atrocity in three decades of strife in Northern Ireland - the 1998 Omagh bombing that killed 29 people and injured hundreds of others.

We reported live from Dublin, examining what this conviction means to those affected by the Omagh bombing, and for the republican movement.

Middle East
The release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners hasn't done much to resolve the current impasse in the Middle East, but is there more the American government could be doing to resolve the problems there.

We looked at reports that the State Department is considering financial sanctions against Israel if it continues building the fence separating the two sides.

Liberia
And from Liberia, the latest from our team on the ground with the rebel LURD (Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy) forces.

Newsnight can be seen on BBC Two at 2230 BST 2130 GMT, or in Real video, either live or on demand, by clicking on the latest programme button.
