New appeal after home raid
E-fit of one of the robbers
The raider spoke with a Liverpool accent
Police hunting a gang who threatened to kill a family during a raid at their Merseyside home, have released an e-fit of one of the raiders.

The raiders - one with a knife - told a couple and their two-year-old daughter they would "cut their heads off", after bursting in through the front door of the house in Huyton.

No-one was injured in the raid, in the early hours of last Thursday, but the raiders got away with two cars, worth a total of £60,000.

The Volvo V70 estate and black Mercedes 4X4 that were taken were recovered in the Croxteth area of Liverpool on Friday.

An inquiry is taking place in to how it took more than 30 minutes for police to respond to the incident, despite being called by a neighbour as the raid was taking place.

Superintendent Steve Richards, who is leading the inquiry, said: "The robbery carried out was particularly callous, and I would appeal to anyone who is able to help us search for the perpetrators to get in touch."

The man shown in the e-fit is white, about six feet tall, aged between 17 and 23, and of athletic build. He has fair closely cropped hair and speaks with a Liverpool accent.

Of the inquiry in to the police's response to the raid, a force spokeswoman later said: "on the face of it, it is absolutely unacceptable that we didn't respond immediately."
