Police in Newquay are hunting for two men believed to have been involved in a knife attack in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officers were called to Trevelgue camp site at 0100 on Saturday where paramedics were treating a 19-year-old man from Bristol for knife wounds to the head and neck.
The man was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where he was later discharged.
The man says he was attacked by two men with whom he shared a taxi from the Red Lion pub in the town.
'More prevalent'
The first man is described as white, of a large build with short brown hair and wearing a distinctive dark blue red and white striped jumper.
The second man is 5ft 6in, skinny, with short black hair.
Detective Constable Steve Rich from Newquay CID is heading the investigation.
He said: "This is not the only such incident we've had this summer, and it's becoming more and more prevalent in the Newquay area.
"This could have been a very serious threat to the victim's life."
Constable Rich said any witnesses will prove vital to solving the case.
He said: "We're looking for any taxi driver in the Newquay area who went and took the three men from the Red Lion to Trevelgue camp."
