Driver charged over forecourt incident
Police investigating a traffic incident in which a woman cashier was injured on a supermarket petrol station forecourt have charged a man with making off without paying for petrol.

The cashier, who is in her 50s, was knocked down at the Asda supermarket in Durkar, near Wakefield, on Thursday morning as she tried to stop a driver leaving, allegedly without paying, but the car failed to stop.

She was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in a serious condition.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with making off without payment and two unrelated attempted burglaries.

He will appear before magistrates on Thursday.

A 30-year-old man has been released without charge.
