A fire has destroyed an ancient Nepalese temple in the capital, Kathmandu.
The 300-year-old temple is situated beside a Buddhist edifice, the Swyambhunath stupa, which is listed as a world heritage site by the United Nations cultural organisation, Unesco.
A BBC correspondent in Kathmandu says there has been no damage to the main Buddhist structure.
It is not clear what caused the fire and the authorities have ordered an inquiry.
