Two children fall from van
Two children were hurt when they fell from a van in Greater Manchester.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at about 1640 BST on Tuesday, at Townley Street in Middleton.

Greater Manchester Police say that when the Mercedes Sprinter van turned right onto Oldham Road, the door opened and the three-year-old girl and nine-year-old boy fell out.

The girl suffered a fractured skull and the boy had minor cuts and bruises.

Both were taken to Booth Hall Children's Hospital.

The boy was later released, and the girl is being treated in the intensive care unit.
