Vandals attack swimming pool
Rubber ring in swimming pool
The pool will have to be sanitized
A clean-up operation is under way on Wednesday at a Suffolk swimming pool which has been attacked by vandals.

The pool at Hartest Primary School, where parents set up a summer holiday swimming club for youngsters, was damaged on two consecutive nights.

Carolyn Stokes, a parent governor at the school, said: "They wrecked the swimming pool cover, which obviously keeps the water warmer, and protects from contamination.

"Unfortunately, the vandals also got in the pool with their clothes and shoes on, introducing germs and bugs, which in this hot sunshine actually made the water go green.

"Now it's not useable."

It is estimated the damage will cost £500 to put right.

Anyone with information about the vandalism attacks is asked to ring Suffolk Police.
