Post mortem due on bike crash boy
A post mortem examination is due to be carried out on a teenager who was killed in an off road motorbike crash which also left a 10-year-old boy in hospital.

Jason Blackbird, 14, died after the scrambler-type bike the pair were riding hit a tree.

The crash, described by police as a tragic incident, happened at about 1400 BST Monday on Pridmore Road near to the junction with Guild Road in the Foleshill area of Coventry.

Easton Blackbird, who was also riding the bike, is still being treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The officer leading the investigation into the crash said police were still trying to determine which boy was steering the bike at the time of the fatal collision.

Sergeant Kevin Doyle, from West Midlands Police, said: "I know I can speak on behalf of the family that their wish is to find out exactly what happened in this tragic incident so they can lay their son to peace."

Police renewed their appeal for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
