Man arrested after car death
A man has been arrested after a driver died when his car crashed into a wall in Birmingham.

The driver, a man aged 20, was driving a Peugeot 205 car when it crashed into a wall of a house in Maxted Road, in Erdington, at 1320 BST on Tuesday.

A woman passenger, 21, from Kingstanding, was taken to Good Hope Hospital, in Sutton Coldfield, with head injuries and is in a critical condition.

A man, who was driving a Citroen GT car found near to the scene, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "A police investigation is ongoing but one line of inquiry is that the two drivers may have been racing.

"Details of the deceased are not being released until he has been positively identified and relatives have been informed."

Police are appealing for witnesses.
