Car free day for county
Motorists in Hereford are being encouraged to leave their cars at home as part of an environmental council scheme.

Herefordshire Council organised the Car Free Day on Monday.

A voluntary ten mile an hour speed limit was introduced for the day as part of the scheme and cycle rickshaws will be available for those who choose to leave their cars at home.

Organisers of the scheme are hoping for less congestion and fresher air.

First Bus Service is offering unlimited city-wide travel for the day for £1, and public transport leaflets will be handed to drivers using the car parks.

The ten mile an hour speed limit will be operating in East Street, parts of Widemarsh Street, High Street and Broad Street.
