New boundary signs describing Staffordshire as a creative place could be put up around the county.
If the scheme is approved it will cost £30,000 to replace the existing signs with 75 new ones.
The original signs, which show a silhouette of the county, are in poor condition.
Officials from Staffordshire County Council, in charge of the county's roads, are planning to put up new signs with the slogan "Staffordshire - the Creative County."
The team said it was an "inspirational phrase" intended to reflect the local creation of bone china, inventors such as Reginald Mitchell, and architecture such as Pugin's masterpieces.
