Crews fight warehouse fire
Fire crews tackling flames
The fire was so fierce it was unsafe for crews to enter the building
More than 100 fire fighters were called to a large fire at a warehouse unit in Nottingham early on Sunday morning.

Two high rise platforms were brought in to deal with the incident at Trade Appliances on Palm Street in New Basford.

The flames are thought to have broken out during the early hours of Sunday.

At one point, emergency crews were called in from as far afield as Mansfield and Beeston.

Station Officer Billy Marshall said: "The difficulties are in getting personnel into the building because of the nature of the fire.

"The nature of the flames and heat has rendered the structure of the building unsafe and getting firefighters into the building would have been very risky.

"This means we are having to deal with the fire externally."

Crews are still damping down at the scene as pockets of fire are still evident.
