Firm redundancies announced

A north Shropshire cold storage firm has announced more than 80 redundancies.

Cold Move, in Oswestry, initially announced 120 job losses earlier this year when a long-running deal with Somerfield ended.

But more than 40 staff at the Maesbury Industrial Estate-based firm have already found alternative work or retired.

The number of compulsory redundancies have now been reduced to 84.

Since the redundancies were announced the firm has been working with Job Centre Plus to find staff new jobs.

A company spokesman said it was in talks with other national firms to take on more storage business.
