Man in hospital after attack
A man was left with "severe" facial injuries after being mugged for his 3G mobile phone in Swindon.

Two men attacked the 20-year-old as he walked from the Brunel Rooms towards Regent Circus, just before 0500 BST on Saturday morning.

The victim was taken to the Great Western Hospital, where he is awaiting surgery after being kicked and punched repeatedly whilst on the ground.

He was left with a fractured jaw, a fractured knee and the loss of several teeth.

The two attackers were in their late teens to early 20s, around 6 ft tall and of slim build. Both were wearing casual clothing.

Wiltshire police say the attack was unprovoked and cowardly, carried out on a drunken victim who was unable to defend himself.

The phone is silver with a flip-top. Anyone being offered one is asked to contact the police.
