Fire engine cools sunbathers
Sunbathers in a park
Temperatures have topped 90 degrees this week
Sun worshippers enjoying the soaring temperatures are keeping their cool with the help of an out-of-service fire engine.

Residents in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, are battling the heatwave by being hosed down by the machine.

The red Dennis engine was bought by a local nightclub which is taking it around town offering refreshing showers.

A spokesperson for Karisma said people were coming out of their houses to greet the engine as it toured the area.

General manager Dominic Borg said: "As a bit of fun we decided to use the fire engine as a fountain, mainly for children to run under and cool off.

"But we found it wasn't just the younger people wanting a turn, all sorts were stripping off and getting a good soaking.

"It has now become such a huge success that we are finding that people are stopping us and asking for a quick squirt."
