Firefighters in Lancashire have praised a man who rescued a woman from a fire at a block of flats on Saturday morning.
The man woke up at about 0350 BST and saw the building, in Norfolk Street, Nelson, was on fire and the owner was standing outside.
Realising the woman was still in her apartment, he smashed down a connecting door and woke her up.
They both then made their way out of the building.
When fire crews arrived he showed them to the fire and they put it out.
Sub Officer Mark Woodward said the man saved his neighbour's life.
