Two hurt in late night fracas
Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning in Taunton.

Another man, 19, received facial injuries in the incident.

Police were called to the scene near the Crescent Car Park and Bath Place at 0130 BST after reports that a man had been stabbed and was outside the Mecca Leisure Club on Corporation Street.

At the scene, a 19-year-old local man was found with a puncture wound to the abdomen, but was allowed home after receiving medical treatment.

An area in Bath Place that had been cordoned off, pending crime scene investigation, was re-opened for normal access on Saturday morning.

A police spokesperson said: "Although neither person was seriously injured in the assault, this is still a highly disturbing incident which could have had far-reaching implications.

"There would have been a large number of people in the area at the material time. Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information at all to contact them."
