Man stabbed in city street

A man is being treated for a stab wound after being attacked in Bristol.

Police are investigating the incident which took place in the Stapleton Road area on Friday afternoon.

The injured man was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary where his condition was later described as "stable".

Police said he had been stabbed in the back.

The assault happened near the junction with St Mark's Road and police are appealing for witnesses.
